I think many people are surprised at how simple it is to make a homemade caramel sauce. Serve over ice cream, drizzled in between cake layers, over a slice of apple pie, or simply dip apple slices in it.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams (1 cup) granulated sugar

  1. In a saucepan at least 3 quarts in size, add the sugar and pour the water over the sugar, being careful not to splash sugar granules up the side of the pan.
