This recipe will produce a pie-shaped bread which is best served in wedges like cake, or it can be baked in individual rolls like muffins with the aid of a Yorkshire pudding tin or mince pie tray. It can also be tailored to suit specific dishes by adding whatever else the occasion demands. You can also use blue cornmeal, which is quite rare and sacred to the Hopi Indians (Native Americans) and is alleged to give a slightly more smoky flavour.
