‘Parfait is a silly word that means ‘perfect’ in French, and can mean just about anything on a restaurant menu. It normally implies something smooth-textured - chicken liver parfait as an example - and in frozen pud terms means something that has been set in the freezer rather than churned. But we have no better word at the moment.
