Neither terribly sweet nor overly alcoholic, these cherries are fruity enough to stand alone as a dessert, without the need for ice cream or cake to mute the impact. But don’t stint on the brandy, or you won’t get the benefit of the subtle cherry-liquor flavor. (And don’t ignore the possibility of cake and ice cream, just because the cherries don’t demand it.)
