For making your own thick, flavorful tomato juice, try to find (or grow) Italian-type pear or plum tomatoes. These are fleshy and contain few seeds and little surplus moisture. Other types of tomatoes (salad or slicing tomatoes) can be used, but their juice tends to be thinner.
