Pungent citrus peels, softened by simmering in syrup, then dried with a thin, crisp coating of granulated sugar are just plain wonderful, if you ask us. We find that this fruity, bittersweet old-fashioned confection is one of the few that can hold its own with good, strong after-dinner coffee.
