Making peanut butter has become a national pastime. In case you haven’t happened upon one of the many recipes that abound in health-food and appliance cookbooks, use this one.

You may simply pour a can of salted roasted nuts into your blender or food-processor container and whirl away. Or you may use raw nuts and toast them before grinding, as we prefer.
