This sweet, aromatic liqueur is served as an after-dinner drink in dainty chilled glasses all over italy. The flavors mellow over time, so allow the liqueur to rest for a few weeks for the best flavor. Tangerines or blood oranges can be substituted.
Using a fine-tooth grater, zest the lemons over a large measuring cup with a spout. Add the vodka to the cup, then pour the mixture into a 1-qt (1-l) glass jar. Screw on the lid and place the jar in a cool, dark place for 30 days, shaking it every few days.
