Truth be told, I will take a torta over a taco any day. So naturally when my birria obsession began, I had to go out and buy some bolillos to make a birria torta at home. This is better than any store-bought torta, and pretty soon you’ll be picking tortas over tacos when you visit your favorite Mexican food joint.

Ingredients

  • 4 telera or bolillo rolls
  • 2 tablespoons (28 g) butter, softene

Method

  1. Split the telera or bolillo rolls in half. If the bolillos are large, remove the bread filling so you’re left with 2 medium-thin slices of bread. Butter the inside of each piece.
