My mom’s rice is one of my absolute favorite things in the world to eat. She would always say that the secret ingredient was love, and now that I don’t live close to her, I realize that it was true. I love my mama and I love this rice. Make sure to use the secret ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (195 g) jasmine rice
  • Olive oil
  • ½ onion

Method

  1. In a medium stockpot over medium heat, fry the rice in olive oil for about 8 minutes or until lightly golden. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the tomato sauce and stir. Add the chicken broth and bouillon cube.
  3. Bring to a simmer, stir, and lower heat to low. Cover and simmer 10 minutes or until liquid i
