Pickled red onions are a culinary cheat code. You want to make the most bland food creation look appealing? Throw some pickled red onions on there. But not only do they add good looks, they have the perfect amount of tang and brine to level up whatever you put them on.

Ingredients

  • 2 red onions, finely sliced
  • Ice water
  • 1 tablespoon (5 g)

Method

  1. Fill a medium saucepan with water and bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Add the onion and cook for 1 minute. Drain and drop onion into ice water to stop the cooking process.
  3. Drain the onions, place into a glass bowl, and add the oregano, salt, vinegar, and lime juice. Stir.
