I wish I had a time machine so I could go back to when my little abuela was spending too much time making refried beans and hand her an Instant Pot (or other brand of electric pressure cooker), giving her back countless hours that she could have used to spend looking off into the sea, which she loved to do.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (907 g) dried pinto beans
