This is a very popular Biting. Dhokri are pappardelle-like dumplings that you can cook in dhal. We used to have this on days Mum was running late from work because it’s an easy standalone meal which takes next to no time to rustle up while the dhal is cooking and is very filling.

Ingredients

  • 100 g gram flour
  • 100 g chapatti flour
  • 2 tbsp

Method

To make the dhokri, simply combine the gram and chapatti flours, oil, turmeric, salt and ajowan seeds with around 50–70 ml just-boiled water in a bowl. Rub your hands with oil and then knead the dough for three minutes until it’s smooth.
