  • 2–3 long red chillies
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 very small Scotch bonnet chilli


Blitz the chillies, red pepper, Scotch bonnet, garlic, salt and sugar together in a food processor to a purée. Thin with a little water to the consistency of your choice. Despite the Scotch bonnet this is not a very hot chutney. It’s got a warming peppery flavour that pairs really nicely with dhokra and is delicious with cheese on toast.
