This is my mother’s speciality – vermicelli sweetened with jaggery or sugar and spiced with nuts and cardamom. Sometimes when my cousins came to stay we’d have this in warmed milk as midnight Biting Biting. I remember piling all our duvets on the floor of the living room to make a communal bed and then we’d stay up late slurping this sweet sev.
