Boiled Fruit Cake

One of nine children, the late Mollie McCallum grew up in a show-minded family and began exhibiting at a very young age. A life member of the Mount Remarkable Agricultural Society, which stages the Melrose Show, Mollie was one of its greatest supporters – a convenor of both flower and needlework sections and a passionate cook whose cakes are fondly remembered across the district.
