When adventurer, entrepreneur and champion of all things Australian Dick Smith agreed to open the tiny Orroroo Show in 2005, local cook Denise Ogilvy decided the occasion merited something special – so she created a biscuit recipe using native bush ingredients. The recipe was published in the show book and people were encouraged to make it for a separate competitive class, with the winner receiving a special trophy.
‘We wanted to get some innovation into the cookery
