‘Everything eatable which the most fastidious could desire’ was served at a special dinner to celebrate the inaugural Quorn Show in 1880, according to a report in the Port Augusta Dispatch:

From 8.00 am on Tuesday, horses, vehicles and pedestrians thronged the township, and by the time the special train arrived from Pt. Augusta the township must have contained 1200 to 1500 visitors, and as a day of wind and dust, hurry bustle and confusion, will long be remembered in Quorn
