The tamarind and ginger here give the classic Margarita some spicy, tangy background notes. Sadly, both ginger and tamarind don’t have the most attractive colour in the world, but what they lack in looks, they make up for in zing. An audacious drink for the bold of heart.
Start by garnishing your glass. Tip a little salt onto a small plate. Run the lime slice around the rim of a coupe glass to dampen it, then invert the glass onto the salt. Once the rim is covered, leave it to dry while you make the cocktail.
Put the lime juice, tequila, triple sec, tamarind paste and bashed ginger pieces into a cocktail shaker and dry shake (without ice) for 20 seconds
