  • ½ cup butter.
  • ¾ cup brown sugar.
  • ¾ cup raisins seeded and cut in pieces.
  • ¾ cup currants.
  • ½ cup citron thinly sliced and cut in strips.
  • ½ cup molasses.
  • 2 eggs.
  • ½ cup milk.
  • 2 cups flour.
  • ½ teaspoon soda.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  • ½ teaspoon allspice.
  • ¼ teaspoon mace.
  • ¼ teaspoon clove.
  • ½ teaspoon lemon extract.

Method

Follow directions for mixing butter cake mixtures. Bake in deep cake pans one and one-quarter hours.
