Haloumi cheese can take high heat so it’s perfect for the braai. Braai the lemons... it intensifies the flavour.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml harissa paste
  • 30 ml olive oil, plus extra to serve with the haloumi
  • 400

Method

Marinate the haloumi slices in the harissa and olive oil.

Braai the haloumi slices on a direct, medium heat for 2-3 minutes.

Braai lines will form on the surface of the cheese.

Rub the cut side of the lemons into the remaining harissa oil.

Braai skin-side down for 3 minutes.

Transfer haloumi cheese to a platter with the braaied lemons, rocket, mint, olive
