I believe you can buy good quality sausages much more easily than trying to make your own. Track down a good butcher. Braai the sausages last, on a low temperature – you don’t want the skin to burst!
Place onion, beer, sugar, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and water in a saucepan. Bring to a high simmer, then reduce. Simmer at a lower heat for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will prevent the onions from sticking on the base.
