This is a recipe I stole from my mother. It’s the type of chilli sauce you can eat by the spoon if you want to, and it is something that is always present at our family barbecues. It goes with any type of meat, and even grilled vegetables.
To prepare the peppers, you can do this two ways: Brush the peppers with vegetable oil and roast in a 400°F (200°C) oven for about 30 minutes, or you can “cheat” and just cook the pepper straight on the flames of your stovetop until the skin turns black.
