I often go to Missouri for book signings organised by Tim Brennan, owner of Cravings, a great bakery café in Webster Groves, just outside St. Louis. During one of my first visits Tim suggested a burger for lunch. I’m never one to refuse a burger, so off we went to O’Connell’s, a friendly Irish bar. The burger was - and still is - exceptional. Thick, moist, tender and juicy, and perfectly cooked medium rare, just the way I like it. The
