Pumpkin Ale

America appears to have a national addiction to pumpkin pie – and Americans have even taken to quaffing it in the form of pumpkin ale, a beer laced with the familiar pie spices. Surprisingly it makes a refreshingly spicy autumnal brew that’s so good it has earned a place in this book. Canned pie mixes are often used, but we prefer to start with the raw ingredients for our take on this unusual American ale.
