Goosnargh Cakes

Reg’s mum, Winnie always seems to have these in her kitchen, or maybe its just when I’m in Lancashire. On my last visit, we were off to see the famous cheese-maker, Mrs Kirkham, after Winnie’s compulsory breakfast and cakes. Mrs Kirkham’s farm is just up the road and, on the way, I thought to myself that the Goosnargh cakes and the crumbly Lancashire would make a perfect combo. I’m not sure they are intended for each other, but they are certainly neighbours, and suitable for that sweet bisc
