On our way back from my first successful grouse shoot, we stopped off for a blaeberry foraging opportunity. We looked hard in among the dense heather, and our eyes eventually focused in on the tiny wild blue berries that very few people bother picking. The blaeberry is the original, wild version of the blueberry, before they were cultivated and, although it may take you an hour to pick half a kilo, it’s well worth it.
