This recipe belongs to Marguerite Patten and was the first pudding I cooked at the age of thirteen.

I followed the recipe from her book Puddings and Desserts, which was published in 1963. The book belonged to my mother originally, but I am pleased to say it’s mine now.

This recipe is a great example of how classic recipes will never die. Almost thirty
