This is a classic example of a British steamed pudding made with suet, but it is rolled with a filling, rather than being cooked in a pudding bowl. If this became a favourite during your schooldays, I think it stays with you for life. The gooey texture of suet sponge absorbing and oozing strawberry jam to be finished with the flavour of fresh vanilla custard: need I say more? Here is the recipe.
