A friend of mine named these after I created and served them to her, her thought being that cocoa power is old-fashioned. Whatever . . . there’s nothing old-fashioned about how quick and easy these brownies are to make!
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 13x9" baking pan.
In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat cocoa, flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla at medium speed, stopping and scraping bowl often until well mixed.
Gently stir in nuts or chips. Spread into prepared pan.
