These use a similar technique (on a smaller scale) as do my Plain and Simple Fudgy Brownies—brownie batter is stirred up in a saucepan, then poured and baked! Sensationally easy.

Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1

Method

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour an 8" square pan.

Melt the butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Whisk in sugar and vanilla. Blend in eggs.

Whisk in flour, baking powder, and salt until blended. Gently stir in nuts. Spread into prepared pan.
