This chocolaty, cheesecake-crowned brownie is delightful with or without toasted walnuts in the Brownie Base.
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour an 8" square pan.
Melt the butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Whisk in sugar and vanilla. Blend in eggs.
Whisk in flour, baking powder, and salt until blended. Spread into prepared pan.
