We put this cake on the counter and start counting down: 5 slices left, 2 slices. It rarely lasts more than an hour. Soon there’s nothing left but a plate of red crumbs. I find that I need to perform quality control on this cake a little more than on others, constantly “testing” to make sure it’s just right. Okay, it’s a weakness. And this is a cake that always looks festive. One of my all-time favorites, this is the cake we served at our wedding. Did I mention that I love this cake?
