This is an extremely simple recipe that yields a delicious fermented applesauce.

Ingredients

  • 3 organic apples, cored and rough-chopped
  • tsp. kosher salt
  • ½ tsp.

Method

Put apples into a food processor and purée until apples are broken down into a smooth applesauce consistency. I like to leave the skins on, but removing the skins before puréeing will result in a smoother applesauce. Transfer applesauce into a clean pint jar and stir in salt and optional cinnamon, if desired. Mix well. Use a canning jar lid and ring to tightly screw on the jar to keep the air o
