The week before we left Nebraska for West Virginia, my friend and neighbor Jen Jorges gave me an old university of Nebraska press book by Roger and Linda Welsch called Cather’s Kitchens: Foodways in literature and life, which you can think of as all the best parts of Little house on the prairie and Little house in the big woods
