This Cantonese salad is very special. It is served at memorable occasions such as weddings and at the birthdays of one’s grandparents. It is especially fine for children, who look forward to eating it as a snack during family gatherings. Nibbling on soon law bak does not ruin one’s appetite!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds white turnip, with both ends cut off, peeled, washed, dried, and cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Partially cut each piece of turnip at -inch intervals along the length, but do not cut completely through. After this process, cut each sliced half into 2-inch segments.
  2. Plac
