A quick and easy family dish.


  • 800 g kabeljou (cob) or other line fish fillets, cut into portions
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

SAUCE: Sauté onion in hot oil until golden, add green pepper and simmer for 5–10 minutes. Add tomatoes and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Add mushrooms, chilli, herbs and sugar. Simmer, covered, for a further 10 minutes, then add salt to taste.

While sauce is simmering, prepare fish. Season fish lightly with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry fish on both sides over med
