Serve this fresh-tasting sambal with a bredie.


  • 3 large Granny Smith apples
  • 5 ml salt
  • 1 fresh green chilli, finely chopped


Peel, core and grate apples coarsely, sprinkle with salt and leave juices to draw for 15 minutes. Squeeze out moisture (apple should be fairly dry). Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
