A thick, spicy milk drink always served hot on the fifteenth night of Ramadan to celebrate the middle of the fast. For a thicker boeber, add more sago.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml extra-fine, ready-cut vermicelli

Method

Melt butter in a deep saucepan, add vermicelli and toss with a fork until lightly browned. Add cardamom, cinnamon and sultanas, then pour in milk and bring to boil. Stir in presoaked sago and simmer until sago is transparent, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
