Sugar Syrup

• 500 ml water
• 375 ml sugar
• pinch bicarbonate of

Bring water and sugar to boil until sugar has dissolved and syrup is slightly thickened. Stir in bicarbonate of soda and butter.

Boil koesisters, a few at a time, in sugar syrup for 1 minute, then drain and sprinkle with coconut.
