This tea does not taste like basil at all, so do not be skeptical of trying it. Many people in the Caribbean have what we call a kitchen garden, where herbs are planted. When there is an abundance of basil, we use it up in this tea. Something about it reminds me of mint. Basil tea is very popular in Morocco as well, where it is served as a sweet dessert tea in many restaurants.
