This syrup can be eaten as is, used to top ice cream, or stirred into oatmeal. If you cannot obtain gooseberries, you can make this recipe with orange zest and any tart fruit of your choice. The beauty of this syrup is that it can also be served as an alternative to maple syrup for topping pancakes. It would also be nice on Arrowroot Tea Biscuits or Breadfruit Cake.
