Shrimp Burgers

The Gay family has operated a shrimp dock on St. Helena Island, South Carolina, for more than 60 years. These docks were used in the filming of Forrest Gump and The Great Santini. Across the highway from the seafood docks sits the Shrimp Shack, which is operated these days by descendants of Mrs. Hilda Gay Upton, the original owner; it’s been around since 1978.
