  • 180 g ( oz) sultanas (golden raisins)
  • finely grated zest and juice of 2

Method

  1. Put the sultanas in a bowl, pour over the orange zest and juice and leave to stand.
  2. Put the pear, apple and onion in a large heavy-based saucepan or preserving pan over medium heat. Add the vinegar and slowly bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, until the fruit and onion are tender. Add the sultana mixture and sugar to the pan, r
