Pecan pie is one of the really great pies and chocolate pecan pie is even better. It is bound to be a success whenever it is served.

Ingredients

For the pastry

  • 175 g (6 oz) plain flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt</

Method

Oven temperature Gas Mark 4/180°C/350°F

To make the pastry: sift the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder together in a bowl. Cut the butter into small pieces and rub it into the mixture with your fingertips until the mixture has the texture of oatmeal. Blend the egg yolk with the cream and use a fork to stir it into the flour mixture. Form the dough into a round ball, wrap in cl
