This recipe is an adaptation of one of the River Cafe’s most famous recipes - if not sometimes infamous! The River Cafe (for those who don’t know) is one of London’s most fabled eateries run by Ruth Rogers and Rose Gray. I tried the original at the restaurant and it is divine. I suspect this is the pudding that gave birth to the often used expression ‘to die for’. It is very, very rich and all the better for it, deserving its reputation as one of the world’s greatest chocolate puddings.
