Stuffed Leg of Mutton

For centuries, mutton was a staple meat of the British table, served for everyday fare, for celebratory feasts, and, of course, for Christmas. In Mrs Beeton’s Book of Household Management, the author praises the role of mutton in the British kitchen: “Of all wild or domesticated animals, the sheep is, without exception, the most useful to man as a food and the most necessary to his health and comfort
