  • ½ pound coarsely ground lamb (or beef)
  • ½ cup converted (also called parboiled) rice
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup and ¼ cup cold water, divided

    The cooked cabbage rolls can be prepared up to 3 days in advance. Refrigerate. Serve as directed.
