These cookies are fun to prepare with the family and delicious any time of day. The crunchy texture will have everyone coming back for more. Ingredients

For the Cookies

  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup and ½ cup granulated sugar, divided
  • ¼ teaspoon yeast
  • 3 cups unbleached flour
  • teaspoons double acting baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground anise seed
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
