Swedish Apple “Pie” with Vanilla Sauce

This old Swedish dessert from the province of Scania is called a pie, but with the apples baked with butter and crumbs until they meld together, it belongs with crisps and brown Bettys. The apple flavor permeates the buttery crumbs. This recipe was shared by Barry Judd, owner of Min Lilla Trädgård, a restaurant in Stockholm.
